Do Or Die Match For Australia

Australia will be playing their crucial match against Sri Lanka in order to stay in the event at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

Andrew Symond's absence in the team will be haunting the Australians as they have slipped down after facing defeat from the Carribeans, The Aussies are at crossroads from where they have the only path to victory to stay in the tournament of World Twenty20.

In a yet again, do-or-die situation, now faced by the Kangaroos, they are keeping their hopes intact for the win.

Sanath prepare for crash to Australia

It was a shocker for Australia when Gayle and party failed to perform in their first match campaign at ICC T20 2009. It wasn't a bad display of batting but the bowling was surely a mess. Bowlers like Brett Lee also failed and were hit black and blue.

Bowlers like Shane Watson, Nathen Bracken and the only spinner in the league Michael Clarke were not able to impress either. But it has to be kept in mind that they carry a team of experienced players and they also sport a strong batting line-up.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka will be playing an international match after a long gap. Despite having built up confidence after beating West Indies in their warm-up match, they cannot under-estimate Australia.

The Lankans having explosive batsmen like Sanath Jayasuriya, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene and Tillakaratane Dilshan, are able to ward off any attack. All these players have enough T20 experience post IPL-2 in South Africa.

It would be an excitement to watch whether Australia will be able to save their pride, and will Sri Lanka allow them the favour in the match. The matches would begin 05:30 pm. [BST] and 10:00 pm [IST].
